It's just 7 more Mondays 'til Christmas and yet the temperature today reads at 91 degrees high! The blue skies, the ray of sunhine and warmness in the air brings an inviting opportunity to seize the day and drive on to Orange County to re-visit one of our family's place of refuge....the historic Mission at San Juan Capistrano.
Within the chapel is a special prayer room dedicated to Saint Peregrine -- the patron saint of cancer sufferers and survivors.
As all of us devotees whisper our prayers to St. Peregrine, I can't help but get teary eyed as I glanced over at my mother, a breast cancer survivor, but now also diagnosed with skin cancer. Upon gathering up my thoughts and emotions, I glanced back at St. Peregrine and find it within that moment the peace of knowing that this too shall pass again.
Though I myself have battles to fight also on the medical front, I am such a weakling when my loved-ones are sick, too. I'd rather be the one sick than them. But then again, I hold on to GOD's promise that everything has its purpose...just keep the faith...for..."Thy Will be done..."
Aside from the spiritual grace that the place brings...{on a lighter note} -- there are also other activites one can do, such as the feeding of the Kois.
A day full of faith, hope and love. A blessed reminder that life truly is a beautiful struggle, and that life goes on amid its frailties.
So do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your GOD. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand. ~ Isaiah 41:10

life goes on, most definitely. and not a self-portrait, i suppose. whoever took that picture has an eye for beauty.
