Trap-Neuter-Return One of my heart's desire is to be able to take-in or provide shelter for all the homeless animals out there...more so, stray or feral cats. But since all wishes are not possible, for now, what I can just do for their welfare is to be the voice for these voiceless animals, and be an advocate of finding ways to make their lives a bit better. One way is by doing the T.N.R. Program:
Trap-Neuter-Return, also known as Trap-Test-Vaccinate-Alter-Release (TTVAR), is a method being promoted as a humane alternative to euthanasia for managing and reducing feral cat and dog populations.

I have done TNR before, and doing it again now for our neighborhood feral cats.
Please join me as I do the stalking, trapping, nursing and release cycle again this time around. I will update with photos on my progress. Together we can make a difference, one cat at a time! ~ sh

GOTCHA!...the trapping was successful this morning. Mama cat walked right in to the trap and the door closed behind her as soon as she stepped on the trigger. She's with the Vet right now and I can pick her up tomorrow.

- Side note: Cat Trap Returned
I'm so glad that she's doing well for days now post-surgery. She is up and about every time I check on her. She is eating well (wet and dry), drinking water and using the temp litter box regularly. I will still keep her a couple more days to recovery, just to be sure until she is ready to be released back to her purry family.

- The RELEASE/RETURN:
It is always with a heavy heart when it's time for me to let go of a TNR foster cat. How I wish I could just keep them if I could. But then again, today is "The Day" for her release. She looked alert, strong and ready--although I'm not! :(
This morning, I then discharged her from the SkippyHeart Center's CCU (Cat Care Unit a.k.a. Our Garage)...I watched her as she at first cautiously got out of the door, up to when she finally reunited with her purry family, with warm welcome back hugs and kisses from her kitties. It was such a happy reunion!
As always, I could not help but get all emotional and teary eyed, but glad having done another successful TNR project. Now, I'm onto my next four-legged assignment. ~ sh
