2 References I pretty much consider myself as a Politically Correct person--so almost always do and go with whatever is for the best interest of many. I do use the "Happy Holidays" greeting as a common courtesy for non-Christian folks; but being a devout Catholic, It makes me cringe when I see the word Christmas written as "X-mas"--I am not being anal about this; I just do not prefer it written that way--sure, it is shorter and easier to write it that way--but Christmas is all about Christ’s birth, so that's like beating the purpose of the true meaning of Christmas ei! So next time, could you spell it out as Merry CHRISTmas, will yah please? [*teehee*]
Oh well, I don't mean to rant and on this note, as Christmas is about Christ--It is also the Season about Love, Sharing and Giving--whether you give a lot or a little--whether, spending just a bit of your time helping out others by feeding the Homeless, visiting the elders, Toy Drives or whatever Charity events-- what matters most is that you share a piece of you.
For folks in the Los Angeles Area, here are some events that you might be interested in a being a part of:
- Los Angeles Mission - Christmas Gift Wrapping and Christmas Street Meal
- Food on Foot - providing the poor and homeless of Los Angeles with nutritious meals, clothing, and assistance in the transition to employment and life off the streets.
- St. Vincent Meals on Wheels - Delivering Food and Love to L.A.'s Homebound Seniors
- Project Angel Food - Jump in the driver's seat!
or just check your local listing for other events.
Also, when it comes to pets--there are so many people that give pets as gifts, many people think that it is a good idea to give puppies, kittens, rabbits, etc. as gifts. I understand that they mean well, but the caveat to that is that about half of those animals just get returned, because the gift receiver didn't want the pet or can't really care for one--so folks, just a friendly reminder to please consider this if you are thinking of giving pets as gifts--and if you do so, please also consider to adopt from you local animal shelters instead of buying from a pet store. Thank you *PAWS UP! ^,,^ =)
As for me being a SkippyHeart lady, last year I gave a Heart shaped bookmark as my add-on Christmas gift give-away--this year, I chose a Heart shaped charm necklace. [*photo below*]
This next photo is of my cat Sammy--one gift that I surely will still keep for myself =)
And, as for YOU -- "AKIN KA NA LANG";) *LOL*
I will ask Santa for YOU - he! he! not!!! - Thanks ;)
Akin ka na lang (akin ka na lang)-Iingatan ko ang puso mo
Akin ka na lang (akin ka na lang)-Wala nang hihigit pa sa ‘yo
