This week's CNN HERO is a FILIPINO! His name is Efren Geronimo Peñaflorida, Jr. or Kuya F! to the volunteers and kids is from Cavite City and the founder of the Dynamic Teen Company under Club 8586, Inc.

For the past 12 years, Efren Peñaflorida and DTC, his team of teen volunteers have taught basic reading and writing to children living on the streets. Their main tool: A pushcart classroom named Kari and Toni. The Kariton Klasrum, Klinik & Kantin (K4) project recreates a school setting in unconventional locations such as the cemetery, city trash dump, slum corners and alleys.
